About
Erina Asanuma
Born and living in Japan.
Received a BA in Fine Art from Nottingham Trent University, a MA in Art History from University of Sussex in UK.
As a painter from Japan, my passion for art is driven by my desire to showcase the beauty that surrounds me. My work is a celebration of two major interests: cultural differences and the beauty of nature.
My experience studying art in the UK allowed me to appreciate and learn about different cultures while simultaneously discovering and embracing my own identity. I am fascinated by the diversity of cultures and find inspiration in the unique ways in which people express themselves. My artwork reflects this joy of discovering cultural differences, often blending elements of both Japanese and Western styles to create something truly unique.
Equally important to me is the beauty of nature. Living in a mountainous area, I am surrounded by untouched natural beauty every day. The shapes and colors of flowers, leaves, and trees inspire me, and I strive to capture that beauty in my work. Through my art, I want to share the serene and peaceful energy of nature with others.
Ultimately, my goal as an artist is to provide a counterbalance to the negativity and sadness that can dominate our daily lives. While there are many sad news stories and conflicts in the world, I believe that there is still so much beauty to be found. By capturing this beauty in my work, I hope to remind others of the inherent goodness and beauty that exists all around us.

山に囲まれた中で生活をしているため、四季折々の自然の美しさにはっとさせられることが多いです。
そして、その美しさを作品として表現しようと研鑽を重ねています。
